Flattering, feminine clothes for grown-up women. This is the simple ethos behind LexyLondon, founded by Dutch-born Ellen Wiggin. Recognising a gap in the market for wearable, hand-crafted pieces that don’t cost the earth, the London-based stylist launched her unique, colourful designs on Instagram in 2019.
With a love of good craftsmanship, Ellen’s intuitive eye for colour, pattern and a really good fit, creates fantastically flattering dresses that are kind to the body and can be worn day and night.
LexyLondon believes in slow fashion, working with small, local manufacturers who look after their highly-skilled workers, provide healthcare and ensure excellent working conditions. Fabrics are organic when possible and sourced almost exclusively in Jaipur, to create Ellen’s own bespoke hand block printed patterns. Pattern cutting, stitching and tailoring is done in one single workshop, aiming for a very short supply chain. We produce in small batches to avoid waste and over production. This may sometimes lead to short waiting times due to products being sold out and temporarily out of stock.
“I love (and wear) every item I design and produce, not just for fashion but for wearability, comfort and longevity. I want to make you smile when you open your cupboard and find one of my colourful pieces, knowing you are going to be feeling your best wearing them, just as I do”.
